Shipping & Delivery

Applies to: Orders placed on milkytallow.com shipping to Canada, United States, Hong Kong, Australia, Mexico, and South Africa.

We ship small‑batch skincare with care. This page explains processing times, carriers, delivery estimates, tracking, and cross‑border notes. If anything here conflicts with a promotion shown at checkout, the checkout terms prevail.

1) Order processing

  • Processing time: Typically 1–3 business days from payment confirmation. During launches/holidays, please allow up to 5 business days.
  • Cut‑off time: Orders placed after 12:00 pm (PT) are counted as next business day.
  • Pre‑orders / backorders: Ship by the estimated window shown on the product page. Your order may ship together when all items are ready.

2) Where we ship (countries we currently serve)

We currently ship to Canada, United States, Hong Kong, Australia, Mexico, and South Africa.
We’re not shipping to other countries/regions yet; addresses outside these destinations will show “No shipping options available” at checkout. If you’d like us to consider your region, email info@milkytallow.com.

3) Carriers & service

  • Labels, tracking & service mapping: We purchase labels and manage tracking via ShipStation (Auctane). ShipStation may recommend an equivalent carrier/service to keep delivery reliable; we may upgrade/downgrade to a comparable service at the same price you paid.
  • Primary carrier (Canada): Canada Post (Expedited, Xpresspost).
  • Primary carrier (USA): Canada Post → USPS handoff (Tracked Packet USA / Expedited Parcel USA / Xpresspost USA), or an equivalent courier where appropriate.
  • Primary carrier (International): Canada Post international services (Tracked Packet / International Parcel / Xpresspost International) or an equivalent courier via ShipStation.

We may upgrade/downgrade to a comparable service to keep transit times reliable (price paid stays the same).

4) Rates & free shipping

  • Live rates: Shipping is calculated at checkout based on weight, size, destination, and carrier service.
  • Regions served: Rates will only display for CA, US, HK, AU, MX, ZA addresses.
  • Free shipping threshold: If a free‑shipping offer is active, its threshold and region will be shown at checkout and in promotional banners.
  • Remote/surcharged regions: Some postal codes/areas (e.g., remote Territories, rural ZIPs, outlying regions) may not qualify for promos or may show higher rates.

5) Delivery estimates (business days)

Estimates begin after your order is processed and you receive a tracking email. Weather, peak seasons, customs, and carrier backlogs can extend these windows.

Rural/remote addresses may require extra time. Some services may not be available to P.O. Boxes. International lanes may experience customs delays beyond our control.

6) Tracking & delivery

  • Tracking emails: Sent from our store via WooCommerce/ShipStation when your label is created. Some services show “Pre‑Transit/Label Created” until the first physical scan.
  • Branded tracking page: Your tracking link may open a ShipStation or carrier page with real‑time scans and delivery updates.
  • Safe‑drop/leave‑at‑door: Carriers may safe‑drop at their discretion or per your delivery preferences. Porch theft is outside our control once marked Delivered (see §10 of Returns).
  • Signature required: We may require a signature for high‑value orders.

7) Address accuracy & changes

  • Double‑check your address (unit numbers, buzzer codes). Edits may be possible before fulfillment; once shipped, we can’t reroute postal parcels.
  • Undeliverable/returned parcels due to address issues are handled per Returns §8 (undeliverable/refused/unclaimed parcels).

8) Warm & cold weather care

We insulate as needed, but extreme temperatures can affect natural textures. If a parcel sits outside for long periods, products may soften/firm; this is normal. Give jars time at room temperature before first use.

9) Cross‑border notes (USA, Hong Kong, Australia, Mexico, South Africa)

  • Duties & taxes: Import fees may be collected by customs or the carrier and are the customer’s responsibility; they are not refundable by us.
  • Customs description & value: We declare contents as cosmetics/skin care, with HS codes and value as required. Orders ship DDU/DDP subject to carrier availability; where DDP isn’t offered, fees are due on delivery.
  • Regulatory limits: Some countries restrict certain cosmetic ingredients/formats. If an item is returned due to local import rules or unpaid fees, we will refund product price only (less original shipping and up to 10% handling) once received back in sellable condition.

10) Delivery problems — what to do

  • Missing but marked Delivered: Check with household/neighbours/building management; look around entrances/mailrooms. Contact the carrier with your tracking; we’ll help initiate a trace if still not found.
  • Damaged contents: Photograph the box, inner packing, and product. Email info@milkytallow.com within 7 days so we can assist (see Returns §3).
  • No scans / very delayed: Carriers sometimes skip scans; parcels still move. If no movement for 7 days, contact us.

11) Local pickup

If offered at checkout, you’ll receive pickup details after processing. Do not arrive until you receive the ready‑for‑pickup email.
